She sets up a bunch of exotic characters, picks one central woman and then hits her with enough catastrophes to turn a mere mortal into a blubbering basket case. Not "Zoya," but "Danielle Steel's Zoya," which presumably is a brand name of some weight, like "Quaker Oats," or "Encyclopaedia Britannica."
